Help us get started!

Several individuals have gotten together to begin the creation of a Humane Society in Southaven MS. We are aware of a serious need in Southaven and the surrounding areas for a no kill shelter for these animals. We search for foster homes as well as foster many of the animals in our own homes until they can be adopted. Those of us involved are very passionate about saving the lives of any animal.
We are in the beginning processes of incorporating, applying for EIN and completing our 501c3 paperwork as the Southaven Humane Society.

We are all volunteers - and always looking for more volunteers.

We can't begin without a facility. Of course we want to locate in Southaven, hence the name...
I have seen a perfect facility in the old Super Kmart facility on the corner of I55 and Stateline Road (next to Burlington Coat Factory). It would be wonderful if this building would be donated to us, but that would be unlikely. We need to raise funds in order to lease the property.
Additionally, we are in need of supplies...kennels, cleaning supplies, food, office equipment, office supplies, a transport vehicle, legal and tax assistance among many, many other things. This is a start up, non-profit business. Any support that you can provide, from time to space to monetary donations, we would be a blessing. (Remember it is a tax write off.)
  • It would help us get started.
  • It would provide shelter and safety for thousands of animals every year.
  • It would save thousands of animals a year from a needless death.
  • It would allow thousands of people new pets.
  • It would, as Bob Barker always said, "Help control the pet population...".

If you are able to donate, please send an e-mail to SouthavenHS@gmail.com for more information.

God Bless
